I hit a 8 iron one bounce straight to the hole.

Hole in 1

Super Shot

Perfect 5 iron.

incredible 8 iron

8 iron on a windy day, hard dry greens.

I was playing at Bishopbriggs golf club on Saturday 12 July. I was on the 17th 140yards wind behind me a perfect 8 iron seen it land a yard from the hole and then it just rolled up and in the hole.

first day of club championship going a long nice and steady, 2 over. ninth tee trees either side all the way to hole. stepped up and as soon as I struck the ball I knew it felt like the best strike of a ball I’d hit, and then watching the flight will stay with me forever! straight down the pin line, one bounce and ball disappeared. pretty sure walking down it had bounced through the green and I was in deep crap, 10 yds from the hole could just see the curve of my ball in the hole, high fives all round!

PW straight down the guts of it

Well struck 5 iron

7 iron

Grant holed his tee shot on our 14th hole during a club competition.

I was playing in the Thursday Monthly Medal in a four all. When we got to the 10th the wind was in our faces and I had 168 yards. For me this shot is a 5 wood or hybrid. Because of the wind I hit the 5 wood and it was perfect.

hole in 1

It was a beautiful sunny day with breeze against. I took an 8 iron to allow for the wind. As soon as I struck it I knew it was a good shot and seen it pitch on the green however due to the sun neither my playing partner or I saw it roll out and just assumed it was there or thereabouts. on going down the slope to the green, we couldn’t see the ball and at this point we started to think it might be in the hole. I then went onto the green and look into the hole and there it was at the bottom of the cup!

Hit a 4 Iron one bounce and slam dunked straight on the hole, it was getting dark not sure if I had gone thru the back when ball bounced and disappeared but looked at back of green no sign glanced in hole and there was my ball

I have been bothered by a touch of the unmentionables recently, for some reason the 14 th hole seems particularly inclined to bring out this dreadful disease . I teed the ball up close to the marker to stop me throwing the club over and hopefully preventing an outbreak of the J Arthurs, whilst noticing the usual tachycardic effect this hole has on me . I concentrated on my breathing and inwardly said a little prayer: “Please O golfing Gods let me not sh...... it “ while also feeling the tension increasing in my hands and arms . I tried to stick to my pre- shot routine and swing easily but instead did my usual spasmodic convulsion which more resembles a petit mal seizure than a golf swing . Miracle of miracles, my prayer was answered, the ball was flushed off the middle of the face of the 7 iron and sailed away towards the green .I was so relieved that I didn’t bother to watch it but instead turned to my playing partners and did a little celebratory jig while declaiming “Yes , not a shank! “ My playing partners didn’t watch the ball either as they were too busy laughing at my arthritic schottische. We got to the green but could only find one ball ( Bob had snap -hooked his left , blaming his bad back ) and much to my consternation it was Dave’s ball on the green . We decided they should look over the back while I checked the front bunkers, , but on walking towards the front of the green noticed my ball sitting on top of the polystyrene covid protector . Cue another celebratory jig !

Tough tee shot with a big drop in elevation over water. Hit a 54 degree wedge. Knew it was close, one bounce short of the pin, past the hole then spun back to the hole and in.

first hole in one on the 8th at Dumbarton

I hit a 7 iron and it rolled in the hole

Did not see ball drop in the hole, the three players on 4th tee told me it was in the hole, pleased with shot.

6 IRON STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE AND INTO THE CUP
