I took an 8 iron as the greens were very firm landing it just short of the green ahead of the greenside bunker, we knew it was close but couldn’t see the hole and were delighted to discover when looking for my ball it was in the hole. My first hole in one at the age of 53!

the 8th hole at bishop auckland golf club us a tough par 3 generally into the prevailing or cross wind playing 178 yards over a ravine to a raised green flanked by 4 bunkers with out of bounds along the right side , on Saturday in the monthly medal I selected a 6 iron , chose my line to be left side of the green for a central pin and to my amazement the ball went into the hole for an Eagle, a memory I will cherish and never forget and thanks to yourselves I will have a stunning timepiece to remind me of the occasion, thankyou for your support .

First Round with my new set of Apez irons, chose to hit a 9 iron and hit a perfect shot just left and a little short of the flag. Saw the ball land, but didn’t see it go in. the guys I was playing with said fantastic shot and one said “ that could be in the hole or close”. whilst walking up to the green I couldn’t see my ball at all and thought maybe I had over shot the green, but nope as I walked past the hole I checked and wow there was my ball sitting in the bottom of the cup. lots of cheering followed

Saturday 16th June 2021, Mr President’s Day 7th hole par 3, 188 yds, our signature hole, downhill with a river running from the right all the way round the back of the hole. chose a 6 iron and hit it well!

days gone by when hitting the green was the norm.

First round of Club Champs. Strong wind off left and against, Pin tight right front. Ball landed slightly short and ran into hole.

6 iron for my first ever hole in one

my friend had just knocked it close with a 7 iron but ran on a bit, I decided to hit and eight iron to a front let pin with a small drawer being left handed. The ball landed perfect with a bit of spin and dropped.

I was putting badly so I would most probably missed the birdie if it hadn’t gone in

Landed on right, shot left straight to pin and disappeared.

My first hole in one after 57 years of trying😊. I hit a 7 iron really well. Never left the pin.

5 iron tee shot pitched just in front of the green and rolled the lengty of the green before dropping into the hole

It was actually a good shot for once, over the water, couple of bounces, a little roll, and in the hole.
