My 4th hole in one

So what a time to get your very first Hole-in-One! And that is exactly what happened to Alan Haresnape in the first round of the Bedale Trophy on Sunday - a cool 7 wood on the 16th hole that went in for an Ace and netted him the Hole-in-One pot that hasn't been won all year. Golf kit to the value of over £1000 was the prize, and here we see a very happy Alan on the 16th green with the lucky ball that did the job

First ever official hole in 1, hit the best 8 iron of my life and was probably the best shot of my life.

Hole in one

As the hole plays steeply uphill I couldn’t see the green from the tee however once I hit my 8 iron I just hoped it was the right club as it was on a good line. The group in front were waiting to tee off on the 5th and looking back watching our tee shots down hill. Having seen my ball come down roughly near the flag, I had a feeling that it would be close and I’d have a good look at birdie however after a short delay the group in front started cheering so we knew it had gone in. According to them it pitched roughly pin high, took one skip forward and then began to spin back towards the hole with luckily just enough momentum to tip into the back of the cup

it was a windy and wet night

Hit 7 iron, pitched 5 ft below pin, slight spin and dropped in whole

The competition took place in calm conditions although there was light rain. I chose a seven iron on the day
