I hit a 9 iron lovely, bent down to pick my tee up while Adey (playing partner) said it’s all over it. Next thing I know Adey and Toby (playing partners) are on top of me jumping up and down hugging me, screaming HOLE IN 1, HOLE IN 1 Brilliant experience that I will never forget made special by two great lads, Toby and Adey PS I can’t play golf play golf for toffee

With a slight wind coming from over my shoulder, I used a Ping 5 Hybrid to hit into a tight front pin position. The green is partially obscured by a bank that pushes the ball from left to right and the line for this particular pin position is down the middle of the bank. The shot I hit went off high and on line landed on the bank and ran down onto the green and rolled into the hole.

Pin centre back. Shot landed on back right edge and fed left into the hole.

I hit a 9 iron onto the front of the green with a slight draw (left handed) and it released and rolled into the hole.

A Hole in One has always been on my bucket list and to do it on Captain’s Day made it even more special.It has only taken 47 years to achieve.I used a 7 iron and my handicap index is 6.6.
7 iron. I hit it slightly left, but fortunately the ball hit the bank of a bunker and kicked it online. I didn’t know it had gone in but the green is close to the clubhouse and the reaction of the people watching gave it away
