hole in one

hole in one

it was a lovely day blue sky and sun. we got onto the sixth tee and had the wind in our faces, so I changed my usual 8 iron for a 7 and hit a high ball to the green. the ball bounced twice and rolled out to the cup and dropped in.. my first hole in one. what a feeling.

Playing in the Thursday competition at Seacroft, a club I’ve now been a member for 20 years. The fourth hole was playing with a light following wind. I hit a high drawn 8 iron that landed on the front of the green, checked on the second bounce and released in to the hole for my first ever hole in one!

Playing in the Seniors stableford competition went on to the tee and decided to play my 5 wood instead of the hybrid I usually playas had caught the bunker protecting the hole on previous 2 rounds. took aim and hit a high left to right fade which looked very good for line ball got over the bunker and both my playing partners and myself didn’t see where ball finished off. On approaching the green could only see one ball on green parked my buggy at back of green and no ball to be seen on walking towards the hole noticed a small white speck showing and then it hit I had a hole in one and at that the congratulations started. What a pity due to COVID restrictions unable to get the drinks up meantime

I hit 3 my wood onto green and it ran into the hole

I wasn't sure where the ball had finish but I looked in the hole and thankfully there it was..

9 iron straight in

Playing in a Stableford, I had scored 1 or 2 pts on every hole. s Standing on the 16th tee, I told my playing partners I couldn’t buy 3 pts today. I played a 6 iron, and watched the ball fly arrow straight to the green, roll up to the flag and disappear. As I retrieved my ball, one player said “You still can’t buy 3 pts as that’s 1 for 4 pts, but you can buy us a drink”

I hit a 6 iron that faded a little and never looked out of the hole

9 iron off the tee landed just in front of left bunker and rolled in 😎

thought my ball got lost but was inside the hole

Took an 8 ironing a slight breeze, landed between bunkers rolled on to green gentle uphill and rolled into the hole.

Perfext four iron into the wind, never looked lik missing.

First competition after lockdown - what a pleasant surprise.

I took a 3iron and cut the corner off the 9th hole at Wexham Park GC and my group walked up to the green and saw the ball in the hole

Uphill par 3 into wind, ball bounced 4 foot short, hit the flag and dropped in

A tiny but treacherous hole with a narrow green and trouble on both sides. My tee shot never left the flag and was a slam dunk, it never touched the sides. Probably the only perfect shot I’ve hit in nearly 20 years of golf.

9 Iron, rolled onto the green and saw it drop in

5iron into into wind, one bounce in

I was playing in our club monthly stableford on 10th April 2021. Had a bit of ropey start on the first 5 holes bit rusty as this was my first competition back after lockdown. Anyway I got to the 6th hole par 3, 149 yards, downhill, pin at the back and slightly wind behind. The hole normally plays into the wind but today it was behind which was nice. I decided I would hit a nice smooth 9 iron and swing easy. I was last to hit, my 3 playing partners had already hit their shots and two of them had the green one of them was about 6 feet away. Just before I teed off they said to come on then inside that. I hit the shot and it started straight at the hole and just didn’t move either way the ball just stayed straight on line with the flag and came down and pitched right on the right edge of the hole and then disappeared my playing partners cheered and said that’s gone in and then I said has it?! has gone in! I couldn’t believe it and then I couldn’t see it so I was like yeah it’s in so I cheered. Anyway when we got down there, low and behold there the ball was sitting in the hole it had pretty much pitched on the inside of the hole and stayed in as I had to repair the lip of the hole with my pitch mark repairer. So there we go that’s my 6th hole in one but my first in a competition.

took an 8 iron ‘ And Boom in the Hole
