My first ever ace..

Played the 16th at level par, played hybrid into the wind, one bounce into the hole.

had made a steady start to the round my first full round for 8 months due to injury, then after making double bogey on the 7th I got to the 8th and it was straight into a 2 club wind so I decided to try hit a hybrid get it up in the air to carry all the way, shot looked good in the air but thought was just on the front of the green as there is a small hump just short of the green so didn’t see it go in.

The sun was in my eyes used a 6 iron and the ball landed on the upslope of the green and disappearad from site.Looked over the back of the green for the ball and was told it was in the hole,missed the frill of seeing it drop

Assessing the wind from the tee after a hailstorm had caught us on the previous hole, I decided on a 7-iron instead of my usual 9 to keep it low into the strong breeze. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever made a better swing and the ball never left the flag as it pitched 10 feet short & rolled up to the hole. However with the COVID protocols in place the ball didn’t drop to the bottom of the cup so I initially thought it had stopped just short. it wasn’t until we were approaching the green that my playing partner shouted that he thought it might be in the hole, and indeed it was... cue celebrations!!

Hit a lovely shot saw it going towards the pin unfortunately didn’t realise it was in the hole until I reached the green.

Hit a sweet gap wedge to pitch 3/4 of way to the hole. Steep down slope so watched the ball bobble and run into the hole! Perfect weight it could have been a putt!

It was a cold, wet and windy day and my round wasn't going very well. I arrived at the short 9th hole and hit a sweet pitching wedge which dropped in the hole after a couple of bounces. Unbelievable!
