I was entered in the Seniors Professional Trophy & Stableford Competition at Corhampton GC on our usual Wednesday role up slot. My playing partners were Stan Taylor and Barry Rowe and we came to the 11th hole which is a picturesque par 3 at 171 yards off the white tee. The hole has bunkers left and right and the green runs away to the back. The hole was carefully hidden by the green keeper behind the rear of the right hand bunker ie. you can't see the bottom of the flag. I played a 6 iron and with my fade (alright slice) it was just about perfect for me to land the ball on the left side of the green and let the greens slope take it towards the hole.
I hoped it was close but often on this hole it runs off the back and to our surprise and delight when we walked up to the green my ball was nicely nestled in the hole.
