Having taken an 8 on the 625 yard 5th hole, I was 4 over par after 7 holes and looking at a fairly mediocre front 9 score.
However, a perfectly struck 8 iron with a bit of draw looked all over the pin all the way. One of my playing partners was very close too, but on checking in the hole, I was over the moon to see I had holed my tee-shot. Picking up 2 shots in one hole, I'm sure this achievement was key towards me finally winning the Falcon Cup on the day.
I've had a hole in one before; about 18 years ago, not in competition and it was a very poor shot, only running into the hole by sheer luck as the ground falls towards the green.
My latest hole in one is the one you dream about - perfectly struck and one to remember for all my life.
